A custom-built steel structure which is utilized to provide access for materials and personnel to submarines while in dry dock
The Material Highway consists of two stair towers supporting a common platform which spans over the top of the submarine that is docked. The platform is connected at each end with a bridge that extends out to the dry dock curb. The platform also supports an enclosure building which houses a hoist that is utilized to lower and raise materials through the hatch of the submarine.
